Thank you for visiting the Mariners' BATTALION NJROTC! The Naval JROTC program was established by Congress in 1964 and now includes over 630 programs nationwide. Pacifica High School's NJROTC program was launched in 1996. Our cadets participate in a variety of events, including athletic competitions, Brain Brawls (academic contests), CyberPatriot, SeaPerch, marksmanship, drone, and drill competitions. Throughout the school year, our cadets are also offered field trips and engage in numerous community service activities.
It’s important to note that NJROTC is NOT a recruiting program for the military! Students involved in NJROTC are NOT required to join the military. Instead, our program focuses on instilling confidence, self-discipline, and patriotism. We support our cadets in all their endeavors, allowing them to be involved in every activity on campus. Our cadets participate in sports teams, band, ASB, drama, choir, and AVID. We foster a sense of belonging and pride, and our students are among the best on campus.
Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our cadets, closely followed by their academic success. We encourage our cadets to pursue a college education, and being part of NJROTC strengthens their college applications. Additionally, NJROTC is a valuable reference for post-high school employment. For cadets who choose to enter military service, we make sure they are well-prepared and knowledgeable about all the options available to them.
We encourage you to come visit our program anytime!
