Principal's Message

Dear Mariner families,

I hope everyone had a fantastic summer! I hope your summer break provided you with great memories and some well-deserved rest. Students will return on Monday, August 15th. The Pacifica staff can’t wait to work with our students and families this school year as we continue to serve our wonderful community.

This summer, Pacifica offered comprehensive athletics and performing arts summer programs as well as a successful Summer Bridge program. Our Summer Bridge academies prepared students for AP courses and connected Literature to performing arts. We will open the school year with before school access to the Library at 7:15 a.m. We will also be offering breakfast before school as well. There will be a variety of academic and wellness opportunities before school that will be communicated out via Parent Square as we open the school year. Our school day will begin 30 minutes later this year. Please click HERE for the current bell schedule.

We are excited to welcome the following new staff to Pacifica:

  • Chelsea Fletcher (ELA)
  • Charles Ayers (Special Education),
  • Taylor Schmidt (Special Education)
  • Larry Isaacs (CTE)
  • Isabella Modaffari (Social Science)
  • Damaris Ahumada (Counselor)
  • Ronna Ibarra (Assistant Principal)
  • Linda Giuliani (Assistant Principal)

Please join me in welcoming everyone to our Mariner family!

Our custodial and maintenance team have been truly incredible preparing our campus for our return. As far as facilities updates are concerned, we expect to install field lighting so that our practices this school year can continue after dark. This is necessary due to the 8:30 start time for 1st period.

This year, please ask your child what they learned in school today and how they know they learned the material. Students will be encouraged to attend tutorials to preview units, preview quizzes, revise their writing, retake quizzes, and engage in other activities for credit. Please ask your student how Tutorial is going and feel free to call the school if you have any questions. Tutorial was recognized as our key program when we were awarded a California Distinguished School Award and we continue to refine it every year.

Our goal is to provide all Mariners with the opportunity to excel in academics, physical fitness, technology, and the arts so that everyone can become positive contributing members of our school and community.

With Mariner Pride!

Steve Osborne, Principal
