Welcome!

I’m so excited to have you in class this year, and I’m honored to be your teacher. In our time together, we’ll explore literature through many different lenses, have thoughtful in-class discussions, and look at texts from a wide range of perspectives. We’ll also work in different groups, share ideas, and learn from each other.

My goal is to make our classroom feel like a second home—a place where everyone feels safe, respected, and encouraged to share their ideas in an academic way. I truly love my job at Pacifica and believe we are a family here.

What I love most about teaching is the growth we experience together. Every year, I learn alongside my students. Each time we read a text, I see it in a new light—sometimes because of my own life experiences, but most often because of the thoughtful insights you bring to our discussions. Literature truly comes alive when we connect with it, and for me, the best part of teaching is rediscovering the wisdom in each story and finding new meaning together.

A little about me: I graduated from Chapman University with a Master’s degree in Reading. I love the outdoors, enjoy reading, and ran Cross Country and Track & Field in high school and at Chapman. I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I’m excited to continue learning alongside you this year.
