¡Hola! Soy la maestra Hourigan. This year, I will be teaching Spanish 1, Spanish Heritage 1, and 2. It is a true pleasure to be your teacher this year. I am eager to teach you Spanish in a fun way using research-based strategies. I was a student teacher at Pacifica back in 2016, I taught at Santiago High School for eight years, and this will be my first year at Pacifica. My husband and I adore our baby Remy and our dog Pica. I enjoy spending my free time cooking, running, and working out. I am very excited to be your teacher this year! It’s going to be amazing.
Education
I went to UC Santa Barbara and completed my degree in Sociology and Spanish. I then attended Cal State Long Beach and got my teaching credentials. Finally, I attended San Diego State University and graduated with my Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2022.
Experience
This is my 9th year teaching. I’ve taught Spanish, ELD, and Mexican American History. I also taught at CSULB for the credential program. I absolutely love what I do, and I want to inspire my students to pursue a higher education and to be their authentic selves. My classroom is a brave and safe space for ALL.
