You received this in class but attached here is the research assignment and rubric packet (MUST have one to submit so if you lose it, PRINT ONE). Look at the research rubrics in detail.
-Examine the Oral Presentation Rubric carefully for the "A" grade-formal wear or appropriate costumes relevant to the topic, props, engagement, etc. (notecards are always helpful to be prepared so you can make eye contact).
-Examine the Research Presentation Slides Rubric carefully-have all that it asks for
-Examine the Research Paper Rubric-understand what a "high score" essay looks for
ON WEDNESDAY 1/26 GIVE ME THE ENTIRE RESEARCH PACKET. READ EVERYTHING! IT'S GOING TO BE A MASSIVE PACKET WITH A HARD COPY OF FINAL DRAFT AND HARD COPY OF YOUR PRESENTATION! *Every group must submit Wednesday to be fair regardless of presentation date.
You also have the list of topics, suggested outline structure, and samples to see what to do/what not to do.
Important Deadlines in Comments:
-On Tuesday 1/18 by the end of the period, you must comment with your group members' names and your research QUESTION (NO REPEATS)
Examples:
Stephanie Tu, Maria Suarez, Sean McDowell-How and why do certain media outlets contribute to sensationalism in news reporting?
Anna Jackobs, Jobe Bilbao, Nicole Parker, Jessica On-Should prison be punitive or rehabilatory in nature? Are certain types of capital punishment cruel and unusual?
-On Friday 1/21, at an announced time, in the comments, you will claim your presentation order AND share with me/link your group's paper and presentation here for easy access and progress monitoring.
WE WILL BE IN THE LIBRARY TUESDAY 1/18-TUESDAY 1/25. Back in the classroom on Wednesday and Thursday for presentations!
*Also, no book checkouts allowed from library as all classes are sharing. You will need to take photos of pages you want to take notes on as well as the info page for your works cited.
