“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward” -Martin Luther King Jr.
Change. It is inevitable. But it is our response to change that defines us as human beings. In Physical Education this year we will be adapting and transitioning to both old and new habits as we integrate students back into physical, social and emotional well being through class activities. My class will be focused not only on continuing the fitness concepts presented with online learning but social skills and (barring no equipment limitations) exposure to old/new sports skills. Through our classroom activities, I am hopeful that students will be able to find something that peaks their interest to apply to their own life long health. We will run, walk, circuit train as well as play basketball, soccer, pickleball, etc. in the joy of having the freedom to do so. As parents and guardians and families of my students, my wish for you is find happiness being physically active with them inspiring others to also contribute/focus on a more healthy society. In addition, if a particular sport or type of fitness appeals to them, I am hopeful you will support their endeavor to achieve a higher level of skill or fitness through participation on an outside or high school team or at a local fitness gym! Welcome back to the 2021- 2022 school year!
