“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” -Lou Holtz
What are you capable of doing? By exploring different sports (individual and team), experiencing different ways to improve our physical abilities (skills, different methods of training), PE 09 students will understand what they are "capable' of doing - if willing to try. Motivation is individual. Attitude is vital. My class will be focused on fitness concepts, social skills and the development of new skills related to the various activities they are exposed to in class. Through our classroom activities, I am hopeful that students will be able to find something that peaks their interest to apply to their own life long health. We will run, walk, circuit and interval train as well as play basketball, soccer, pickleball, etc. in the joy of having the freedom to do so. As parents and guardians and families of my students, my wish for you is find happiness being physically active with them inspiring others to also contribute/focus on a more healthy society. In addition, if a particular sport or type of fitness appeals to them, I am hopeful you will support their endeavor to achieve a higher level of skill or fitness through participation on an outside or high school team or at a local fitness gym! Welcome back to the 2022 - 2023 school year!
