LT Christopher K. Cecil USN Retired Bio

Lieutenant Cecil is originally from Northwest Indiana.  He graduated from Webster County High School in Dixon Kentucky in May 1990.  In high school he participated in cross country(Regional level) , wrestling (State Level), baseball, and track (Regional level). 
He enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1990 two days after his eighteenth birthday.  He attended Aviation Electronics and Advanced Electronics in Naval Air Technical Training Center, Millington Tennessee.  He then attended Calibration school at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado California.
Petty Officer Cecil reported for his first tour June 1992 in the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor Washington.  
He transferred to the USS TARAWA (LHA 1) in August of 1994.  While on board, he completed two Western Pacific Deployments.  He earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist pin and was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class.  He also was a member of the Southern Pacific Naval Wrestling Team competing at the World Class level.
In August of 1998 he returned to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.  He was advanced to Petty Officer First Class and was accepted into the Enlisted Commissioning Program.  After completing the Naval Science Institute Newport Rhode Island in June of 2001, he became a member of the University of Washington ROTC.
He received his Naval Commission in June 2003, and was 3rd Division Officer on the USS SACRAMENTO (AOE 1) in Bremerton Washington.  In August of 2004, he transferred to the USS JARRETT (FFG 33) in San Diego California as the Damage Control Assistant.  On board, he earned his Surface Warfare Pin, completed a Counter Narcotics Deployment, and was advanced to Lieutenant Junior Grade.  
November 2005 he transferred to USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60) in Everett Washington as the Navigator.  He completed an extended Counter Narcotics Deployment.  He was advanced to Lieutenant just before transferring to Naval Oceanic Processing Facility, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in October 2007 as an Operations Watch Officer.  He laterally transferred from Surface Warfare to Full Time Support Aviation Maintenance Officer.
LT Cecil's final tour was with VR 61 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island as the Maintenance Material Control Officer.  He retired July 1st 2012 from active duty.  In August 2012, LT Cecil became the Senior Naval Science Instructor with Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster California.  While with the Lopes, the program grew from 75 cadets in August of 2012, to 280 cadets at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.
July 1st 2015, he became the Senior Naval Science Instructor with PHS.  He has also been an Instructor with the annual Area 11 Leadership Academy as a Platform Instructor for the top 1% of cadets in California and Arizona since the summer of 2014. 
He is also a member of the 501st Legion, which is a professional Star Wars costuming group active in charity events throughout the year.  He is the proud father of four and very active in the local community.  His hobbies include costuming, woodworking, painting, drawing cartoons, and playing video games.
He is married to the former Tanya Cupples of North Vancouver, British Colombia Canada.  They have four children Kyle (Cal State Fullerton Class of 2020), Jessica (Pacifica Class of 2019),  Alliyah (Pacifica Class of 2022), and Brandon.
