The department of History/Social Science at Pacifica High School is committed to preparing students for active citizenship through courses that target both content knowledge and skills acquisition. We pride ourselves on developing students prepared to succeed in the argument culture of the post-secondary level, and we work closely with grade level teams and interdisciplinary teams to target reading, writing, and presentation literacy. We believe that that through the study of US History, World History, Civics, Economics, and other electives, students will become more thoughtful, literate, and engaged in their communities.
