You will be choosing a piece to perform for me as a final. You can either perform it live, or recorded. I will need to approve the selection. You can use any of the selections from MusicFirst, in the PracticeFirst section (type in Solo to the search bar.) Your piece will be graded on accuracy, tone quality, articulation, and dynamics.

Choose a major performer on you instrument. A major performer will be a principal with a major symphony orchestra, a soloist, or a recording artist. You will present to the class information on your artist. Minimum presentation time is 3 min. Your presentation should also include performance examples, either audio or video.

Answer the following questions in your presentation:
1 What makes this person a major performer?
2 Biographical information
A Who (family background, etc.)
B Where (growing up, early life, schooling)
C Experiences that shaped the performer
3 Performer Experience
A notable ensembles
B notable solos
4 Examples from their body of work
A Examples of their solo work that is exceptional, or representative of their stye and importance to the instrument performance practice. Explain your choices.

Your grade will be determined by your presentation style, word choice, verbal delivery, and clarity of information. You may use visual aids, power point, slides, marionettes, shadow puppets, interpretive dance, or other media to help you in your presentation. Please be aware though, that you will be responsible for the visual presentation. Google slides are your friend.

Place your recording of On The Campus here. It can be video or audio only, if you like. 120pbm, 2nd ending at bar 21, 2nd ending at bar 38, and take the repeat at the end back to bar 72, following any dynamic changes written on your part.

Give me a recording of the introduction and up to the first repeat (end of the first strain). The recording doesn’t need to be up to tempo, however it does need to be at an even tempo, so you need to work with a metronome. Attach the file to this assignment. Choose video or audio, either works.

Using flipgrid, record your part for SSB. Play it at 90 beats per minute. Use headphones to keep the tempo, so the metronome doesn't bleed into the recording.
